On Tuesday, April 26th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm the West Louisville FoodPort will host a job fair at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, located at 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

FoodPort general contractor Messer Construction is expected to achieve project sponsor Seed Capital KY's goals to utilize minority-owned businesses at a rate of at least 20 percent and woman-owned businesses at a rate of 5 percent. The first phase of the FoodPort is expected to create 150 temporary construction jobs and 200 permanent jobs.

Construction work envisioned for FoodPort Phase One include landscaping, paving, excavation, surveying, plumbing, painting and more. As a result, jobs include surveyors, heavy equipment operators, laborers, carpenters, roofers, and other construction trades, including plumbers, electricians and iron workers.
