FoodPort Harvest Fest
Saturday, October 17, 2015, 03:00pm - 07:00pm

harvestfest

Location S. 30th St. @ Muhammad Ali Boulevard
The #FoodPortHarvestFest will be a family-friendly, food-full event, celebrating the season and sharing the FoodPort project with its West Louisville neighbors and city supporters.

There will be hay rides, and a pumpkin patch (thank you Lucky’s Market Louisville!)! We’ll have free food samples (and more for sale) from Louisville Vegan Kitchen, The Black Italian, The Weekly Juicery, Boss Hog BBQ, and Aspire Cafe. There will be hot apple cider, caramel apples, and Fall mums for sale.

DJ John Q will be there to spin the tunes, and Art & Activism will give spoken word performances through the event. Meet, greet, and learn about the current projects of Louisville Grows, The Food Literacy Project and Truck Farm, Louisville Urban League, and future FoodPort tenant Jefferson County Cooperative Extension.

The Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft is graciously providing a children’s art activity area, and Magnolia Photo Booth will be there from 3:30 – 6:30 to capture the fun of the day. The FoodPort’s Workforce Development Workgroup will share early jobs information through an interactive Internet Jobs Cafe, courtesy of the city’s new free wifi.

This event is free and open to the public, and will take place adjacent to the potential FoodPort site, on 30th Street, between W. Muhammad Ali Blvd and Cedar Street. The Festival takes place rain or shine!
