The Neighborhood Institute is a neighborhood leadership-education program established in 1987 by the Center For Neighborhoods, a non-profit civic organization. The Neighborhood Institute equips neighborhood leaders with the resources necessary to effect positive change by acting through and with their neighborhoods.

Through a series of presentations, discussions, and learning exercises, Russell Neighborhood Institute will connect members of the community with each other, resources, and potential partners (government, non-profit, and community associations) to move their ideas and dreams into action.

Each class will seek to address questions such as:

  • What is our vision for the future of our neighborhood?
  • How do we become civically engaged?
  • How do we create community?
  • How can we organize?
  • What partnerships can we develop and engage?
  • What opportunities are available?
